The principles of bipolarity and spiral kinetics are found in nearly all areas of nature. However, our modern, technology-driven age tends to neglect these laws of nature.
Bipolarity describes the rhythmic change between two opposing states. Bipolar functional states are ubiquitous in nature:
-
the division of time into day and night and the change of seasons
-
state of material in hot and cold, liquid and solid as well as their expansion in large and small, high and low as well as fast and slow
-
electricity with plus and minus poles
-
classifications of order states in organized and disorganized (chaotic)
-
physiology of the heart with systole and diastole, of breathing with inspiration and expiration, of the musculoskeletal system with flexion and extension, of the autonomic nervous system in the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions
-
movement phases with directional swing and counter-swing
-
differentiation of vigilance states in active and resting or tense and relaxed
The list could be continued endlessly.
Rhythmic spiral kinetics describes the phased sequence of bipolar functional states. Different levels of vibration in space and time are differentiated, which blend harmoniously into a whole. Externally visible spiral forms in nature are:
-
the universe with spiral arrangement of stars into galaxies
-
the motion of water with wave crests and wave troughs
-
the meandering flow of water in rivers
-
the spiral anatomy of the heart muscle and the blood circulation
-
the spiral-kinetic arrangement of the spine and the extremities
-
the circadian rhythm of physical performance
A spiral movement continuously changes in form over time and in space in a “figura serpentina” without ever returning to the exact starting point.
In contrast to this, much of the work in the humanities and natural sciences throughout human history has been contrary to the principles of bipolarity and spiral kinetics. Functional states in nature were considered only one-sided, i.e. unipolar, and thus unphysiologically isolated. Motion sequences were also described either only one-dimensionally as the shortest forward movement on a straight line between two points or two-dimensionally as a movement on a circular path. Technology and industry accept the loss of spiral-kinetic principles. In economic science, only growth with linear or even exponential curves (until the unavoidable crash) ultimately counts. This reduced, unnatural approach results in problems in many areas of life:
-
monotony in everyday life with the suspension of the natural rhythm of life

-
acceleration without relaxation leads to physical and mental stress resulting in illnesses
-
one-sided posture and lack of movement are causes of muscular imbalances.
Health depends on the alternation between activity and relaxation. Physical and mental growth also needs the constant stimulus of contradiction, that is, the harmonic rhythm of opposing poles. In this sense, a return to natural, energy-giving biorhythms is necessary. We recommend incorporating a constant alternating rhythm into all areas of life, regarding well-being as the alternation between tension and relaxation, and being successful by consciously turning away from the goal without giving up one's own basic orientation.
