Just a few hundred meters from the Nile, the silence of the Egyptian desert begins.
In 1993, we spent a few days visiting Cairo and its impressive National Museum. This was followed by a multi-day cruise along the Nile from Luxor to Aswan, during which we visited many ancient Egyptian cultural sites in the immediate vicinity of the river.
In 1995, we returned to the Nile, visiting Luxor and the area around Thebes before enjoying a relaxing beach holiday in Hurghada.
