Vienna

Vienna - a mixture of sedate K&K charm and modern open-mindedness - has been a frequent and always beautiful destination for us in the past.

With its diverse cultural and tourist opportunities, Vienna is worth a visit at any time of the year. Several times we visited Vienna in early March in connection with the European Congress of Radiology (ECR).

The possibilities for the visitor to Vienna are manifold: The late gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral with the St. Stephen's Square in front of it as a central meeting point, the shopping miles of the Kärtnerstraße and the Graben, the Old and New Hofburg with its imperial splendour and the Spanish Riding School, the museums of art history and natural history and the Albertina in the direct neighbourhood, the State Opera and the Konzerthaus, the Burgtheater and the Volkstheater, the Hundertwasser House and many more. These sights are all within or along the "Ringstrasse". Well known amusement destinations are the Prater and the Heurigen in Grinzing.
